Question: Is there a place on the net that is fast to upload (for Canadians/Americans) and is cheap each month for ftp file hosting? Ideally i need at least 1 GB of free space.

You can do this yourself for FREE. All you need is a computer with a broadband Internet connection and a Linksys router. Open the FTP port (21) on the Linksys, pointing it to your PC’s internal IP address (you should also first statically assign an IP address to your PC, so it doesn’t change). Then, determine your public IP address you are getting from your ISP (shown on the Status tab of the Linksys mangement screen). Then you can just FTP directly to and from that public IP address, which is linked to your PC. You also have to enable the FTP service on your PC and map it to a folder, and enable security on the folder, otherwise you are vulnerable to hackers. You also need to check to make sure you have the FTP port open on your Windows firewall.
